M- Project Beauty Q & A
1. How did you feel being photographed without makeup? What did you learn about yourself?
I felt a little uncomfortable at first but after a minute or two I forgot I wasn’t wearing any at all! I learned that not wearing makeup can make you feel really free to be yourself.
2. Do you feel like in 2023 teenage girls have a lot or overcome in terms of acceptance and how you look to others ? How did you deal with it or overcome it? Or do you ignore social acceptance and what others think ?
I do think that a lot of teenage girls still feel pressure to conform to societal standards. I also think it’s less pressure from outer influences, though they are still prevalent, and more pressure from inner perception of yourself. For me, it helps to just take a step back and remember that no body is judging you harder than yourself.
3. What characteristics and traits do you think make you beautiful? What makes others truly beautiful?
I think kindness, enthusiasm, and honesty are three traits that make people and myself truly beautiful.
4. What do you think this project does for girls’ confidence? What can they learn about themselves?
I think this project helps us come out of our shells. It takes confidence to sign up for it and follow it all the way through.
5. WHAT DOES TRUE BEAUTY MEAN TO YOU?
Being yourself no matter who’s around and not changing for anyone!
6. Do you ever post photos of yourself on social media without hair and makeup done ?
I do sometimes but not super often. I think this project will encourage me to post more natural photos!
7. Do you allow what you see on social media to influence how you feel about your own self ?
I try not to for the most part. I think that it’s an inevitable part of social media but it’s important to not let those thoughts consume you.
