Hey senior guys !!! Your senior photos are important !

Senior photo sessions are not just for the girls ! Your senior year is just as important and capturing those cool and unique images are needed just as much ! Your moms, dads, grandparents and family want to display and see who YOU are your senior year !! It does not have to be a big deal and we can either plan for an extensive senior session or a very laid back session. Here is a few tips to make sure session a breeze !!!

Here’s some quick tips for putting your outfits & yourself together for your senior pictures:

1. Don’t shy away from color. If all of your outfits are khaki and white, it’s time to switch it up. Throw in some olive green, or sky blue (depending on

your color tones) for a more eye catching outfit that will add a ton of interest to your session. Bring your favorite shoes/sneakers ! Shoes are mega important.

Every outfit has a shoe type that works best with it (i.e. the formal outfit looks best with polished dress shoes like oxfords or chukka boots and the casual

outfit looks best with boots, sandals, or tennis shoes), but I do love it when a senior can mix and match styles with ease. For example, a nice suit with a

cool pair of Jordans would be a great way to showcase his personality. But make the shoes part of the plan -- not an afterthought.

2. Layers are ALWAYS in style. If you are bringing an outfit that you can throw a jacket, vest or sweater over, that will be a winning combination. Layers

add an attractive dynamic to your outfits that can make them so much more interesting.

DO FORMAL IF IT'S HIS THING (OR MOM'S)

  • Wear dark denim jeans and pair it either a crew neck sweater or a classic overcoat.
  • Sport a navy or black pair of pants with a button up shirt. The tie is always optional.Bring Three to Four Outfit Options
  •  HAVE A CASUAL OUTFIT OPTION
  • He can't go wrong with a simple jeans and T-shirt. I prefer solid colors and no athletic logos.
  • Throw on some khaki shorts, a simple and soft three-button shirt, and a pair of sandals.

3. Stay away from basic type graphics, logos, and busy prints.(Unless it's more of a designer type look) I know that your fav t-shirt may have a funny graphic or words on it, but your senior portrait session is NOT the time to wear it. Solid colors and graphic-less pieces can make you look more refined and classic. A small icon logo is fine but no true words unless we are taking a true theme photo for sports, hunting, etc.........

4.Bring all your sports/music/hobby gear. You might not be into taking those photos but for your parents/family they have been cheering you on for years and they would love to have some of those photos to look back on ! (i.e. a football, a basketball, their instrument, etc)

5.Pets/Horses let's capture your BEST FRIEND !!! Let me know if you want to have some photos with them and we can make it happen !!!

6.Cars or Motorcycles ? VROOM VROOM just bring it all looking pretty and we can make some fun images !

7.College or Grad Swag is always encouraged to be brought. If your grad stuff isn't ordered or in yet, you can get a set on Amazon for under $25 to use in your photos.

8.Accessories are for guys too! If he loves wearing a baseball cap, cool fedora, or a cowboy hat, bring it to his senior photoshoot. Hats infuse the photo session with your senior's personality, and that's what the portrait session is all about. He also can wear jewelry, such as earrings, eyebrow rings, necklaces, rings, or bracelets.

9.EYEGLASSES

Most lenses have a glare. The safest option is to check with your eye doctor and ask if they’ll loan you a similar pair without lenses If you are really into your sunglasses bring those and we can incorporate them into the session.

10.SKINCARE/COMPLEXTION/TEETH

I retouch your photos with any acne, so please don’t be concerned about minor breakouts. We have you covered! If your acne is more severe, you’re still okay. I had bad acne in high school and understand! We’re happy to help you out with some extra retouching. Please make sure to moisturize your skin/arms/face before your session. Dry skin on your face will show up. We need to make sure hair is cut and styled, beards are lined and neat, and nails have been cleaned and trimmed. I'm actually a huge fan of the scruffy look in day-to-day life, but senior pictures are kind of a big deal, so let's try and look a bit more polished than our everyday
